So, what is "Umi & Candy" about?
In U&C: It All Begins, or Umi & Candy for short, our story starts with Umi, a wanted criminal, and our main protagonist, lazing around in her secret bunker, before a giant mechanical eyeball, who is an alien named Sauhron, bursts in through Umi's roof. Sauhron warns Umi that if she doesn't return her necklace to her within the next few weeks, Sauhron will use a giant mother ship and it's laser to obliterate her home island. Umi, both enraged and scared, decides to chase after her to try and talk to her, losing track of her, before running to Candy's home to get her help with the situation. And it's up to Umi and Candy, and their two other friends, Trip and Axl, to either peacefully talk to the Shine Invaders, or to take them down one soldier at a time, travelling all around the island of Skerado and encountering all sorts of villains and monsters. The planet of Xenotha is in your hands, and your choices matter. What do you do? Spare or slaughter?
How will the game play?
Umi & Candy will be similar to old school turn based RPGs, following a turn based attacking system between 4 team members, including their own tailored special moves. There will also be a variety of collectables to get during your adventure, such as Gems and Artifacts, as well as other treasures yet to be found. The game will also have escape sequences at the end of every second stage, a part of a designated level, where you must rush back to the start of a stage, but you may go around the stage again for bonus points. But most importantly, the game will be affected by your decisions. Every decision you make could drastically change the game as you play, whether you decide to kill your opponents, or let them run away scott free and be happy, it's all your choice. Just be weary about what you do, or who you follow.
Characters and Representation
We here at Blue_Star Games take inspiration from a variety of franchises to make our game and story as fun and as enjoyable as we can, and to make our characters pop out and shine from the stories they tell. We don't believe in rushed work or unoriginality, we like to keep everything fresh and fun for everyone to love. We also love to represent, and do so properly, compared to larger companies who slap in a gay person and write them horribly. We have writers who have written professionally before, so we have a fair understanding on how to write people right, and when we do wrong, we do our best to do people justice. Everybody is welcome and respected in our fandom.
